H Smith has vast experience at taking things apart, it is our bread and butter!  For many years now we have worked on numerous inner city and residential projects where structures needed to be carefully taken apart piece by piece.  There are many situations where demolishing a building cannot simply be done with explosions or brute force.  This is where our vast experience allows us to keep people in the vicinity safe and give the Client exactly what they want.

As a company there are many things we can do, excavating and grubbing out existing foundations is one of them.  Often as part of our demolition operations our Clients require us to also remove the substructure below ground, this is something we are very experienced with and are happy to include as part of larger projects. 

We also undertake other aspects of Groundwork and Lansdscaping, along with archeological excavations if the need should arrive on certain sites.

We all are very aware these days that Asbestos was a bad idea for industrial use and we will continue to help rid the country of this dangerous substance.  H Smith has a standalone Asbestos division with our own in house labour team, these qualified professionals can deal with any of your Asbestos removal and abatement needs.  As a company we work to the recognised ISO 14001 standard in all of our operations. There are many situations where we can't just demolish a structure entirely. Facade retention is an area we are very knowledgable of and our in-house Structural Engineer can design all aspects of temporary works systems.  Whether it be to keep an element that is either protected under planning conditions / National Heritage stipulations, or it simply be to keep the building safe during demolition and beyond, H Smith can provide the service.

With vast amounts of urban regeneration happening all over the country, there are many times when outdated structures or large buildings are given the go ahead for demolition. Controlled demolition via the implosion method is the simplest way to bring something down if the circumstances are right.
